Patient information

Patient FAQs.

Clear information to help you prepare for specialist kidney care.

Can I receive a Medicare rebate?

Medicare rebates depend on your eligibility, a valid referral and the requirements for the service provided. Bring your Medicare card and referral. Reception can help you confirm referral and eligibility requirements.

Is telehealth suitable for me?

Video or phone review may be appropriate depending on your clinical needs and whether a physical examination is required. Medicare eligibility varies by service and circumstances. Ask reception to confirm suitability and Medicare eligibility before booking.

How long is the wait?

Availability varies between clinics and according to clinical urgency. Contact your preferred clinic for the next available appointment. Ask your GP to include any urgent concerns in the referral and contact the clinic directly when expedited assessment is needed.

What happens at the first visit?

Dr Aarabi reviews your symptoms, medical history, medications, blood pressure and investigation results. He discusses the likely cause of your kidney problem and agrees on any further tests, treatment and follow-up with you.

What should I bring?

Bring your referral, Medicare card, current medication and supplement list, recent blood and urine tests, relevant scans and a blood pressure diary if you have one. Write down the questions you would like to discuss.

Can I consult in Farsi?
